What are the primary activities of the co-operative?

The primary activities of the co-operative will be providing abattoir services to the Fleurieu Peninsula community in South Australia, including agricultural producers, restaurants, butchers, and supermarkets.

What are the benefits of membership?

All members have entitlements to:

  • One vote regardless of the number (or type) of shares held
  • Any dividends that may be declared
  • Other investment opportunities related to the co-operative such as the issue of Co-operative Capital Units (CCUs)
  • Participation in any winding up

Who is an active member?

To establish and maintain active membership of the co-operative, a member must:

  • Pay as and when due the entry fee and periodic membership fee payable by the member to the co-operative, to be applied to the primary activities of the co-operative; and
  • Either:
    • Utilise at least one of the primary activities of the co-operative per two consecutive years period; or
    • Supply goods and/ or services to support the primary activities of the co-operative at least once per two consecutive years period.

How do I apply to become a member?

  • Fill in the application form
  • Pay the entry fee for an application for membership (currently $100)
  • Purchase at least 100 shares, at a price of $1 per share

All membership applications will be reviewed by the Board.
